Welcome to Nairobi

The World Health Summit (WHS) Regional Meeting 2026 will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, at the United Nations Office (UNON Complex) from April 27–29.

Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital, is a dynamic hub for diplomacy, innovation, and global dialogue. Often referred to as the “Green City in the Sun,” Nairobi uniquely blends modern infrastructure with rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. As a regional gateway to East and Central Africa, the city hosts major international conferences, global institutions, and multinational organizations.

From its thriving business districts to its close proximity to wildlife and scenic landscapes, Nairobi offers an inspiring setting for meaningful conversations that shape Africa’s health and development agenda.

The Venue

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the only UN headquarter office in Africa and the global south and serves as the representative office of the UN Secretary-General in Kenya.

UNON provides administrative and other support services to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Resident Coordination System (RCS) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) globally in 166 countries. UNON also provides joint and common services to other organizations of the UN System in Kenya.

Home to diverse fauna and flora in a rich environmental ecosystem, UNON sits on 140-acres of land, the largest of any UN compound in the world.
