Prudence Matern Masako is Country Director for CARE Tanzania and a regional development leader with nearly two decades of experience advancing gender equity, youth leadership, climate resilience, and inclusive economic transformation across Africa. She holds an MSc in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and a BSc in Home Economics and Human Nutrition from Sokoine University of Agriculture, complemented by advanced leadership training at national and international levels. Her work bridges community innovation, policy engagement, and strategic partnerships, promoting integrated approaches that connect climate adaptation, health systems, and economic inclusion. At CARE Tanzania, she champions Eco-Savings Groups (Eco-VSLAs) as platforms strengthening financial inclusion, resilience, and enterprise development for women and young people.A Ford Foundation and Kofi Annan Fellow, she has received national and continental recognition and serves on strategic boards shaping inclusive growth and resilience agendas across the region
