He is a Joint Assistant Professor/Lead Human Genetic Epidemiologist at the Clinical Research Unit of Nanoro (CRUN)/Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé (IRSS, Burkina Faso), and the MRC Unit The Gambia at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (The Gambia) ; and Senior Researcher (Honorary), Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Biosciences (SBIMB), University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa).
After extensive work in genetics of atherosclerosis in African, he is aiming to contribute in statistical genetic methodological approach, genetic susceptibility to Non-communicable diseases and precision public health translation/ impact. He is also working on nutrition within the First 1000 Days, and on the use of machine learning to understand nutrition and NCDs mortality. He is contributing to multiple training in genomics and bioinformatics in Africa. He has been an active member of the H3Africa Consortium, CHARGE Gene-Lifestyle Interaction Consortium, PRIMED Consortium, Africa Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Cancer Consortium, and others.
