Luchuo Engelbert Bain is a global health strategist, empirical bioethicist, and partnership broker working at the intersection of health policy, diplomacy, and equity. He is Co-Founder of Global Health Otherwise (GHO), a platform dedicated to rethinking global health scholarship, practice, and the democratization of knowledge systems. His work focuses on the meaningful decolonization of global health, health politics and diplomacy, and African leadership in global health.
Dr. Bain has published extensively on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), community engagement, empirical bioethics, and health systems equity. As Deputy Director of the MSc in Global Women’s Health programme at the University of Oxford, he also serves in strategic advisory roles to several organizations and global health initiatives, supporting policy development, partnerships, and institutional strategy.
He holds two visiting professorships at the University of Johannesburg and EUCLID University and is an elected Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS).
