Dr Khadija Owusu is an award-winning medical doctor and an international advocate for gender equity and systems-level health reform. She is the Founder of the AKAYA Foundation, an organisation operating across the UK and Ghana that advances health education, youth leadership and social accountability initiatives, impacting over 10,000 young women and girls.

A British-Ghanaian leader, Dr Owusu works at the intersection of policy, lived experience and community-led change, championing approaches that centre marginalised voices in health decision-making. Her work spans clinical practice, civil society leadership and global advocacy, including speaking engagements at the United Nations, TEDx and major international media platforms.

She is a Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 honouree and holds a Global Master of Public Health from Imperial College London. Dr Owusu is committed to advancing equitable health systems where young people and communities are not just consulted, but actively shaping reform.
