He is a Paediatrician, Clinical Epidemiologist and Distinguished University Professor at The Aga Khan University, Nairobi and was Founding Chair of the Academic Departments of Paediatrics in East Africa. He is also NEST360 (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies) Global Alliance Co-Chair and National Lead for Kenya. NEST360 is an alliance of 23 organizations supporting governments of five African countries to prevent and reduce deaths of newborns.
